Any decent content can be optimized, all it needs is intelligent keyword choices and correct links placements. The content comprises of following:

Web Copy Links Tags Content arrangement.

Effective web copy:

The copy should be developed with the target audience, products/services offered in mind. Let’s look at some key ways to write effective web content:

Write an interesting web copy. It’s a myth that good writing and SEO will not happen together. They can go hand in hand. But first step is a great copy. Make sure the content will be of use to somebody and not create the content as well as optimize it. First target your readers and write whatever will benefit them most. Some key things to keep in mind while writing such a content are :

Never use abstract language on your website. Be concise in your copy. It pays to be positive and to the point Use appropriately placed good links from your content, wherever required. Put your self in the readers place to analyze what is written Use sub headings, sub topics to tabulate the information systematically. Generally, 400-500 word write-ups are good. For more informative subjects, a use a 1100 words limit.

The content should be oriented towards doing something or taking some action regarding the information you have provided. Vague guess works will achieve nothing.

Right Keywords:

Keywords highlight the important points related to your product/service and should be used with care.

Four steps to optimize the content using the keywords are:

Selection of keywords Density of keywords Prominence of the key phrases. Variation

Choose only the most related ones and leave aside the unrelated keywords. Analyze the keyword density required. Generally a 2% density should do the trick. Page titles, headings are prominent places to write the keywords. Vary the keywords using the stem Variations, Synonyms and Related words.

Links:

Links are recognized as most effective ways to increase the rankings and hence are an important SEO tool. Try to get links from higher page rank sites. Inbound links bring major traffic to the sites. Try to work on getting as many links as possible. Contact other webmasters to get links from their pages to your site.

Tags:

Meta tags should be added to every page and should be short yet informative in their description. This is important as most search engines will hold the descriptions as such getting them from the Meta Tags.

< name="description" content="put in your description ">

Content Management:

Manage the entire content by placing relevant content at same pages. Also always make sitemap with links to all the pages so that search engines will not have troubles indexing the pages.

All these will help you in creating great website content with proper SEO to get better rankings in various Search Engines.

Often too many people get confused with all the definitions, here we have explained in easy to understand terms.

ADSL:
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line – asymmetric meaning it’s faster downstream than upstream.

ASAM:
Advanced Services Access Manager -Whether you have a DSLAM or ASAM in your exchange doesn’t really matter. They do the same thing. See DSLAM’s as well.

ATM:
Asynchronous Transfer Mode – a method of encapsulation which is capable of many virtual circuits. With these, providers (ISP’s) can split an ATM connection (155Mbit or 622Mbit) up into many connections. ATM isn’t just used for DSL but in the case of DSL it’s used to provision each customer.

Contention Ratios:
A contention ratio is the number of users to xMbit of bandwidth. For example some providers offer 2Mbit DSL, with a ratio of 50:1, meaning 50 users to 1Mbit of bandwidth.

CPE:
Customer Premises Equipment, the term that describes the equipment used on the customer end of a connection, for example your DSL modem/router or cable modem.

DSL:
Digital Subscriber Line.

DSLAM:
Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer – They are placed in DSL enabled Telecomm exchanges, when your modem syncs up and the DSL light comes on, it means you are connected. When data travels down your connection, it goes from the CPE -> DSLAM -> RAN -> ISP

ERX:
Edge Routing Exchange. See RAN.

IPNet:
Telecommunications backhaul networks for carrying traffic from the customer to the ISP, i.e. carrying traffic from RAN’s to ISP’s.

Ping or Latency:
A ping measures the time in milliseconds that it takes for a packet to travel from your computer to a remote computer and back to you again. Just because you can’t ping a given host, quite a lot of providers are beginning to filter ICMP (pings come under this protocol) traffic because it is commonly used to attack hosts and wastes a lot of bandwidth.
Many providers also give low priority to ping (ICMP) traffic which may mean your ping at a command line isn’t very good, but in say a game, things may be fine.

RAN:
Regional Access Node These aggregates many DSLAM’s connections and then feed the data to an ISP

RTT
Round Trip Time – the time it takes in milliseconds for a packet to go from A to B and back again. See ping.

SDSL
Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line – symmetrical meaning the same speed up and down.

Units

There is a major difference between UPPER and lowercase

MB = MegaBytes
Mb = Megabits
kB = KiloBytes
kb = Kilobits

MB/s = MegaBytes per second
Mb/s = Megabits per second
kB/s = KiloBytes per second
kb/s = Kilobits per second

There is 8bits to a Byte, 8kb = 1kB

1Meg connections only transfer at 128kB/sec
or an 8Mb connection only transfers at 1024kB/sec or 1MB/s

You’ve made the decision to purchase broadband internet access for your home or office. What’s your next step? Do you contact your local provider directly and sign up? This is certainly and option, but one that may not be in your best interest.

Contacting one local provider may not be your best option because it limits your choices. It limits the specials available to you. You see, the competition for your business is fierce. There can be a number of vendor choices each offering the same or different access methods and specials. There’s cable access, DSL access, satellite access. Each comes with it’s own pro’s and con’s.

You might live in an area where all three-access methods (not counting dial-up) are available. You may live in an area where only 2 or even 1 vendor is available. How do you know? Which do you choose?

The simple way is to contact the one vendor you know of, but there is another way. Use an online-brokered service. These services should be FREE to you and provide information as well as quotes from multiple vendors within your area.

There are many services available on the internet for you to access this information. Of course we’d like you to use our service, free of charge, but any service you find should provide you with the following.

Information – It’s critical that you be provided with the information you need to make informed decisions.

Quotes for service – You should be allowed free access to quoting software that will search out and report back all the available vendors within your area. This quote should be free to you as well as identify who the vendor is, what type of service it is, detailed technical information about the service, price, contract length and what specials are available to you.

Lastly, there should be something in it for you as well. When searching for these types of services, don’t forget to see what’s in it for you! For one, our service offers rebates in addition to the vendor specials. Ok, we’re biased here because we believe our service is the best, but other sites probably offer the same incentives. Also look for another level of support. You can go directly to the vendor of your choice with questions about modems, routers, email accounts, etc. and then wait until someone from their support group gets back to you. If you’ve purchased your broadband service using a brokered service on the internet, you should be able to contact them as well. An additional level of service is another incentive to purchasing your service online.

If you contact a single vendor chances are you’re not going to receive unbiased information. A broker does provide unbiased information because they are not tied to a single provider. Having access to multiple providers with multiple access types allows the flexibility to search out and find the ‘appropriate’ service and the best price and provides value for using the service.

In closing, find a service that is FREE for you to use and provides the information, quotes for service and provides value to you in the way of cash rebates, information and another level of support.

Enjoy your broadband internet experience.

Chat or Instant Messaging (IM) hasn’t been Google’s forte till Google Talk came along six months back. With giants like AOL, Yahoo! & Microsoft walking tall in the IM arena, each enjoying tens of millions of users, it’s no wonder Google realized that IM is a vital piece of missing link in its armor for dominating search industry. So when Google Talk came into being, there was palpable excitement in air.

Six months later, the buzz around Google Talk has been steadily on decline. Though full of sophisticated features like voice calls, messaging and automatic Gmail check-in, there was something amiss. Given my penchant for all things Google, I for one didn’t find Google Talk a necessary requirement for my life on net.

In comes Gmail Chat. And what a wonder! Taking over from where Google Talk left, Gmail Chat is a perfect example of engineering skill harmonizing with ease of use. The two complement each other in perfect unison.

So what is it Gmail Chat offers that is unique? Well, to put it in short, Gmail Chat merges the functionalities of messaging and emailing under one single umbrella. Look at this pictorial presentation here. In essence, one never needs to leave Gmail to do either messaging (IM) or emailing, or both. Want chatting only? Just pop up a new window and forget you’ve ever been in Gmail.

What’s more, your chatting history is automatically stored in Gmail account, available any time to forward as well as search for any keyword. That’s done by Google Talk in background while you’re still in Gmail, but are you bothered? Not really. It shouldn’t concern you a tiny bit so long you get the unified service at one place.

Trust Google to spring marvels now and then. I’ve learnt not to doubt Google’s ability to work wonders. On the way, if Google rules the search industry as uncrowned king, so be it.

The whole concept of Blogging first appeared in the 1990’s when it emerged as a way to make comment on a webpage. It was an opportunity for visitors to make their opinions known. For something which started as a way to make one or two comments on a webpage it has evolved into something which enables people to talk about their own views and experiences at great length.

Understandably internet marketers and others have seen the potential in this new online environment and they have tapped into the blog’s potential.

So how can you easily make use of “blogging” as an Internet marketing tool.

1.First and foremost blogging is easy! The easiest way to get your thoughts or information onto the internet is through blogging. No particular skills are necessary beyond the ability to type and construct an intelligible posting. It’s like having a virtual notepad on which you can write your ideas, experiences, new products, and encourage your readers to take up your offers and your products.

2. Blogging is Real. Nowadays advertising pervades so many different aspects of our lives to such an extent that we filter much of it out. However, in blogs, we perceive that real people are sharing their real-life experiences, without being tainted by paid advertising. It feels as if reading blogs about products is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. Many of us want to buy a tried and tested product with real testimonials.

3. Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webspace is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up.

4. Blogging can build credibility. As you get more and more comfortable with writing about your particular products or niche, your readers come to recognise that they can depend on your posts. As this starts to happen they are more likely to start to take up your recommendations. As such, you start to be perceived as an expert on your niche and as a consequence, your blog gets more visitors and other bloggers may start linking to your blogs.

5. Blogging can help to build your market. You might like to consider some of the following ways to build your market through blogging:

By using subscription.

A relatively easy way to get your readers e-mail is to encourage them to subscribe to your blog. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give you their e-mail address. Ensure that you treat their email address in a responsible manner in using it, because the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

Get to understand your visitors.

Conduct a simple survey for your visitors to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask them to give you feedback on a post, a link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

Joining blog networks

XA network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same niche, interest, readership base etc. Visitors find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a subject.

By using RSS.

RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

Having a worthy item does not immediately guarantee that you would receive the highest bid. Sometimes, it takes more than a great product to get the top bids in E-Bay.

One of the things that you should consider is the presentation of the product. The product should be presented carefully and gracefully because buyers are often attracted to products that have presentable packages because it promises that it is also a quality product. Research is always a good thing therefore a little research regarding your product is important because it would help you determine many things in E-Bay like the demand of the product, the price range for the product as well as the quality of your competitors. As they say, keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer and this saying is really appropriate for E-Bay.

Okay now, first things first, make sure that the product is on the right category. This is because most customers browse products online through categories and once you put your product in a different category, chances are customers would only bypass the ad and you would lose your chance of selling or even advertising the product. The right category is important because it makes your product known in this department and if it is really good then the quality of your product could be known. The second thing that you have to consider in order to have a high bid in E-Bay is to take quality photographs of the items. A quality picture means that the item should be presentable enough for sale. Though quality pictures suggest a presentable outlook, it does not mean that you should lie regarding the quality of the product. Honesty is the best policy here and for example your items have minor defects like a glitch on the backside. Be honest enough to admit it and also take a picture if necessary. This would ensure the customers that the damage in the item is only minor and could not affect the purpose and reason of the item. Another thing that you could do is to advertise. Advertising is really not a bad thing because you give exposure to the items and the longer you expose it, the more potential customers you could have thus giving you the chance to have a best bid of the product.

Getting the highest bid only needs a combination of strategic planning as well as execution. This is needed so that one could maximize the benefits of E-Bay.

With the price of T1 service dropping from it’s high point of roughly 20 years ago, it’s no wonder that more and more businesses are searching out and using this cost effective solution. Whether it’s voice, data, or a combination of voice and data, T1 service providers can satisfy your communications infrastructure requirements.

But where do you find an appropriate provider that offers a great price and support?

This is a great question. The biggest mistake is to base a purchasing decision on price alone. Beware of this. As most know, the net effect of any business purchase is the return on your investment. The ‘cheap’ T1 service providers may be just that. A cheap cost for an oversold service that would be unable to provide the throughput advertised.

When making this important decision to build up (or out) your communications infrastructure, ask yourself some important questions.

a.	If you’re looking for a voice T1 service, what are your current requirements? (local/long distance, fax, toll-free service, number of lines needed, etc.)

b.	If you’re looking for a data T1 service, what is your objective? Web hosting, internet access for your employees, ASP, etc.

c.	If you’re looking for an integrated solution (voice and data) consider both points above.

Obviously these are some general considerations. There are also cost factors, time lines to implement, technical support, hardware requirements, contract time frames and extensibility issues to consider.

Whether you have an in-house technical staff or not, whatever provider you choose for service should be willing (and technical able) to work with you every step of the way to understand and provide the service that meets your needs.

So, how exactly do you find an objective third party to help you understand requirements, cost, support and extensibility?

A communications broker provides an objective look at your unique situation. Communication brokers work for you and not for any specific vendor. If you were to contact a specific vendor, their assistance would be geared towards a specific product or service they themselves offer. Their solution would be partly tailored based on what they themselves can provide. Using a communications broker removes that limitation by having access to products and services from many different vendors. Further, the communications broker can objectively evaluate your situation and design a solution that meets all your requirements and needs.

There are many T1 providers out there. Do yourself and your business a favor and use a communications broker to help you navigate the waters and build an infrastructure that will solve your immediate needs and provide the infrastructure that can handle the growth of your business. Whether you use our services or that of someone else, your business success is too important to leave in the hands of the ‘cheap’ guys.

Is Net Zero the right internet service provider for you and your family? The best of anything is always the one that works best for you and your family. When choosing an ISP, the same is true and you really should look at varying number of plans and companies. However, one of those that you should certainly consider is Net Zero.

Net Zero is an ISP that expands over the entire United States. They currently offer three dial-up internet access plans that are designed to accommodate those of varying budgets and needs. By offering varying plans at varying prices, Net Zero should warrant at least a look from you if you are in the market for an affordable dial up ISP.

If you do take a look at Net Zero and other providers and end up deciding that Net Zero is going to be the one for you, then you will see that getting started is not hard. You can go to the Net Zero website where there is a Net Zero store. Click on the plan you want and then go to check out. It is really that easy, as simple as buying anything else on line. You will just need to make sure you have a credit card and your billing information ready to fill out during the check out and registration process.

How fast you will be able to start your Net Zero internet service will be based on which method of software download you go with. If you decide to download the software from the Net Zero website, then you can start right away with your new username and password. If, on the other hand, you opt to have a CD with the software sent to your house for download, then you are probably looking at about 5 to 10 days before the CD arrives and you are able to download the software. With internet access, your Net Zero services like email are available immediately as well.

You may have trouble signing up for Net Zero internet service on the web. Maybe you don’t have internet access at all which is why you are looking at using Net Zero as your ISP. If either of those is the case, you can still sign up. Net Zero offers a toll free phone number you can call to sign up. The process works the same, except that you obviously cannot just download the necessary software. Instead, you will have to wait the 5 to 10 days for the CD to arrive in the mail.

Choosing the right ISP for you and your family can be difficult. There are a lot of options out there. However, take some time and look around, but be sure to check out Net Zero along the way. With affordable prices, fast startup, and easy purchasing, Net Zero might just be the one for you.

When you publish a content site there are times when affiliate products are not the only products you want to recommend.

Situations when you’ll find you’ll want to promote a non-affiliate businesses’ product(s).

So you’ll have to set out to ask permission to do so.

And when you request to use other businesses’ copyrighted material, such as graphics or content, you want to be certain to receive a reply back as fast as possible, don’t you?

Absolutely!

Then there are several things you must be aware of.

What must you be aware of?

You must be aware that there are various reasons why you may receive a slow response. Or never receive a response at all. And here are the reasons why:

1. The prospect is very busy and does not have time to respond to you promptly.

2. In connection with #1, the prospect is busy, means to reply, delays, and then forgets.

3. The prospect may have to do a little research to find out if you are able to use the material since it may not actually belong to the company itself.

4. The answer to your request is “no.”

After you understand all of those reasons there is one very important factor that could help you receive a quicker response.

And that is making it as easy as possible for your prospect to answer your request.

The less work he has to do, the faster the reply will come.

Typically speaking, if you request to feature material (of another business) on your website, most intelligent parties will realize it is free advertising for them.

But they still want to be particularly certain that your website is of high caliber.

Since the image of your website reflects on their business.

So you MUST give your prospect every reason in the world to say “yes” to your request.

And how do you do that?

1. Own a high quality website.

2. Inform him that is it FREE advertising for his business.

3. Include a link to your website in your email. And then call attention to your website address. (Offer an example page [if possible]).

4. Offer a simple way for him to give you an answer.

5. Be VERY aware that your email is equivalent to a resume (curriculum vitae). How the email appears is how you appear. If its sloppy, then you’re sloppy, and your website is sloppy. It must be professional, have no typos, or grammar errors. Proofread!

It is best to create a template that you can use anytime a situation occurs in which you need to request to use another business’ material. And in that template there should be a simple multiple choice section.

If you’ve done all of the work for the prospect then you have a much higher chance of getting the response. Remember, you’re the one infringing on his time.

Why should he have to spend extra time out of his day to respond to you? He doesn’t need you. You need him.

So give him every reason to respond.

His minutes wasted = unlikely response. His seconds wasted = very likely response.

Minutes and seconds are a large margin apart.

Less work for your prospects equal more responses. More work for your prospects equal less responses.

Due to my own experiences I realize how important this is so I have even made it very easy for you.

I have created a template that you can use and alter to your liking. Copy and paste it into a text editor and save it.

Even if you don’t need it for this specific reason you may need it later for another vital reason.

————————– Copy and Paste Template ————————–

Greetings,

Let me introduce myself. My name is (Your Name). E-business owner of (Your Website Name).

There are several products that I have found on (Name of Prospect’s Website Name) that have aroused my interest. And I would like to promote these products on my website. I think they would be very valuable to my visitors and send a moderate amount of traffic to (Prospect’s Website Name). Therefore, I am contacting you to request permission to use the following materials on (Your Website Name):

1. (Product Name)

2. (Product Name)

3. (Product Name)

You can conclude your decision that (Your Website Name) is of high caliber by clicking on the following link:

(Your Website Name) http://www.yourdomain.com

Also to help make your decision easier I have included a sample page of how your product will look displayed on (Your Website Name):

Sample Page http://www.yourdomain.com/sample.html

I recognize that each person’s time is very valuable so to make things simple I have included a fast and easy way for you to respond to my request. It will take no more than 30 seconds worth of your time.

To respond simply hit the “Reply” button of this email, put an “x” in one of the boxes (below) next to whichever option serves as your answer, and then hit “Send” (to send the email to me) and you’re all done:

My answer is…

[ ] Yes

[ ] I’ll have to check into that. I’ll get back with you.

[ ] No

Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to receiving your answer. Have a great day!

Best Regards, (Your Name)

email@yourdomain.com

http://www.yourdomain.com

———————— End of Template ————————

See how easy that makes it for the prospect?

All he has to do is take a couple of seconds to reply and he’ll be rid of you for good (hopefully).

The prospect has no real hassles with having to take much time to think up how to word a reply.

It’s all done for him.

And should the prospect need to check things out before he can give you a final answer, be certain to send the prospect a follow-up email (like the template above) 1-7 days after you receive the prospect’s answer.

The follow-up email can sit in his email box and be available to him when he does finally have the answer to your question.

Remember, the more your prospects have to think or work, the less chance you’ll have of receiving that reply. Ever.

Do as much of the work as you can for them.

What Exactly Is Virtual Web Hosting?

So you have decided that you want to start a website, or even an e-commerce site. You have managed the site design, and have even purchased a domain name, but now what? You will never get any visitors to your site if it isn’t accessible via the web. The only way to do that is by using a server. The server will maintain a permanent connection with the web and on the server will be stored all the information about your website. In effect, users will come onto the server access your website and then when they decide to move to another website they will access information from another server. So, the real question is, what type of server do you need?

For all individual users and most small e-commerce users, virtual web hosting is the way to go. The other option, having a dedicated server, means that you will actually go out and purchase a big and very expensive piece of hardware that will be used for your website alone. Virtual web hosting is, essentially, renting a small piece of someone else’s server. Virtual web hosting which is also called shared hosting, because it usually means many different sites are all located on a single server, and is vastly more economical than owning and maintaining your own server. But beyond just economics, there are a great number of reasons to use virtual web hosting rather than dedicated hosting.

One primary reason is downtime. Running a server is often quite a bit more complex than running your own personal computer. There is a real need to stay on top of technological advancements, watch for usage spikes, and maintain adequate bandwidth access. A server is hardware that must stay in constant contact with the internet if people are to be able to access your site. As a result, trying to manage all of the aspects of a server, in order to ensure that the individuals are able to access your website all the time, can easily be a full time job. A job which, for most individuals and small companies, is simply unreasonable.

Consequently, the virtual web hosting industry has flourished. With easy to use interfaces, individuals who have no experience with internet hosting, or building their own website for that matter, are able to set up an account with a virtual web hosting company. These companies also often provide one stop shopping services such as email forwarding, data transfer, backup services for your website in case of a crash, technical support, and often your own set of email addresses specifically for your website.

All of these features are ultimately designed for one purpose, to make the process of putting up and managing a website a realistic possibility for individuals and small companies that would otherwise find the prospect of hiring a full time staff to maintain hosting impossible. The ease of use and the affordability of virtual web hosting have harnessed the power of economic collaboration to provide individuals and companies with a practical way to get and keep their site on the web.
